ISO New Recipes!

Sometimes, even Pinterest fails to inspire me. Earlier, I asked for some help in discovering new foods...now, I really just want to try out some new recipes! It can be anything--a new way to make a grilled cheese or your favorite kind of cookie, a new twist on an old favorite or something totally new out and original! I want to hear them all!

So, what are some of your favorite recipes?

  1. My favorite recipe is my grandma's sauce recipe. This recipe has been passed down for four generations now from her family in Italy. My family uses the sauce for all different occasions whether it be holidays or even birthdays.

  2. My favorite food is mac n cheese, so I think maybe if you did your own take on a mac n cheese recipe or adding a spin on an already existing mac n cheese recipe would be pretty neat! There's hundreds of ways to make it, but many are unique to each chef!

  3. I recently learned a new dinner that a friend taught me that is very low cost, and easy to make. First you need kielbasa or some type of sausage, one or two potatoes, and vegetables of your choice. (I usually pick a bag of SteamFresh veggies to pop in the microwave). Next you want to cut up the sausage, and potatoes. Then you pour some oil into a pan and start cooking away. I'm not too good at cooking but this is one dish that I've mastered, and it's delicious every time.

  4. One that I recently tried out was taking smoked gouda and wrapping it in prosciutto. I know there's not much 'recipe' to that, and it can't be healthy, but it's so good!

  7. I really enjoy making buffalo chicken stir fry. It's a twist on the asian dish but by incorporating emphasis on onions, carrots, celery and garlic- then just using chicken buffalo sauce and ranch. It's super good and easy to make!

  8. Alright, I actually stole this fat-infested dessert from the chefs at Lawrence dining hall - so bear with me:
Two slices of bread with peanut butter spread. (Jelly is optional)
Cut several slices of bananas and add to a slice
Insert 2-3 slices of fried bacon atop of the bananas
Drizzle honey or chocolate syrup over your fruity-bacon mountain
Place lone peanut butter bread atop of it all creating a sandwich
Stick that sucker in a Panini Press & begin making another... You will be in need of another!
    You're welcome ;)
